Desert Plants

Desert Plants Some plants have adapted themselves to live in harsh conditions like deserts and they have some special features to live in harsh conditions like they have fleshy leaves which store water inside them while some plants maintain moisture by having few or no leaves, and some plants also have spines to collect moisture, provide shade and also protect the plant. All the desert plants have very long roots to consume some amount of water from the ground deep inside.

Aquatic Plants

Aquatic Plants Plants that have adapted themselves to live in the water or water bodies like rivers, ponds, seas, and oceans are called Aquatic plants. There are two types of aquatic plants, Algae and Microphytes. Algae is referred to as Hydrophytes and Micrphytes are referred to as Macrophytes. A Macrophyte is a plant that grows in or near water and is either emergent, submerged, or floating. They are able to survive in the water as they can breathe the oxygen dissolved in the water.

Transportation In Plants

Image
Transportation In Plants Plants transport water, nutrients, and minerals to all the parts like leaf, stem and etc. This process starts from the roots, the roots absorb the water, nutrients, and minerals, and then a tissue called Xylem transports it to all the parts, and a tissue called Phloem transports sucrose and amino acids between the leaves and other parts of the plant. So the tissues involved in this process are Xylem and Phloem.

Plants That Live In The Rainforests

Plants That Live In The Rainforests There are many different varieties of plants that live in the rainforests. They are called the rainforests because of the heavy rain all the time, the ground is wet all the time so the plants that live in rainforests live above 30 meters of the ground level. They live in the leafy world known as Canopy. The canopy, which may be over 100 feet (30m) above the ground level. It is made up of the overlapping branches and leaves of the rainforest trees. Some varieties of plants that live there are Orchids, Ferns, Philodendrons, Banana Trees, Rubber Trees and etc. They live in rainforests because they don't need a lot of sunlight and the soil needs to be moist all the time. There the small plants do not get sunlight at all because of the larger trees. So some of the plants have colorful leaves because they don't get sunlight and the colors in the leaves absorb light of their color.

Outdoor Plants

Outdoor Plants There are a number of different varieties of outdoor plants. These categories include herbs, shrubs, trees, and etc. They are called outdoor plants because they need sunlight, the main reason for calling them outdoor plants. Some plants that do not need a lot amount of light are called indoor plants. The outdoor plants need a lot of light to do photosynthesis and need the sunlight. All the things they need is sunlight, ample water, nutrient-rich soil.

Habitat And Adaptation In Plants

Habitat And Adaptation In Plants Like Animals plants also adapt themselves to live in different and harsh habitats like the cactus found in deserts, they had adapted themselves to live in the harsh conditions like deserts where there is no water, they have spines that prevents it from losing water and very long roots to get the water deep in the soil, the desert plants do transpiration only at night when it is cool so that they doesn't lose water and in the day the temperature is high so if they will do transpiration in the day the water will evaporate in the air. There are different plants that have adapted themselves, some plants live in water and some in forests and etc.

Definition Of Plants

Definition Of Plants Plants are multicellular organisms. Plants are only organisms that can make their own food by doing Photosynthesis. They also provide food to animals. They produce most of the Oxygen present in the world that is required for the animals to survive. Plants do respiration and take in carbon dioxide released by animals and give out Oxygen that is required for animals. Plants are the ultimate and main source of food on Earth. Because the animals that eat the flesh of other animals or carnivores are also dependent on plants because the herbivores animals that the carnivores eat are dependent on plants and if there were no plants then there were no herbivores alive and if the herbivores were not alive then the carnivores were also not alive, so directly or indirectly all the animals are dependent on plants.

Grassland Animals

Grassland Animals Grasslands are large areas covered by only grass there are no trees and forests, only grass. So, the herbivores animals that live in grasslands have to be alert all the time because in the grasslands it is an open area where the carnivores like lion, leopard, etc. are in search of food, and in the grasslands, it is very easy for them to find food in the large open areas but it is very difficult to chase them because the herbivores animals that live in grasslands are deers, wildebeest and etc. they are very clever and quick and they are very alert. So, the life of the animals in the grasslands is not easy, the animals have to struggle for their life and food. There the weather is also not accurate at all, anytime heavy rain, harsh sun, and cyclones can come. The animals that live in grasslands live in groups and it is easier to chase animals and search for food.

Polar Animals

Polar Animals Polar regions are one of the harshest habitats like deserts, where the temperature can fall -100 degrees celsius, the animals that live there adapt themselves to live I such harsh conditions, there a very little number of animals live because of the harsh climate, for the six months there is night and for another six months there are days, the animals like a polar bear adapt themselves for the harsh nights when the temperature is very less as compared to days, the polar bears have a very thick layer of fat that keeps them warm and the food they eat in the days is stored with the fat and in the nights they do hibernation a very long sleep for six months, the fat stored gives them energy for the six months of nights. In the world, there are two poles or polar regions, the Arctic where the polar bear lives in the south pole, and the Antarctic where the penguins live in the north pole. On the days in the south pole, the ice begins to melt and the polar bears have to eat fish

Desert Animals

Desert Animals Desert is one of the harshest habitats due to its harsh environment and dry conditions with no rainfall. There a variety of animals live but not with a large population like forests, the animals that live in deserts adapt themselves to live in such harsh conditions. One of the best examples is the Camel, they have fully adapted themselves to live in such harsh conditions like they have a hump which is used to store fat which is utilized when there is a lack of food and helps them in giving energy as the fat stored in the hump is finished then their hump squeezes and they do not sweat so that the temperature of their body maintains. There lives a variety of animals like lizards, Scorpions, Fox and etc. those have adapted themselves like the Camels.

Forest Animals

Forest Animals Forests are the most common habitat of animals, there are many types of forests like evergreen forests, tropical forests, and etc. Most of the animal's habitat is the forests. In forests, there is plenty of food, water, and shelter, and the animals don't need to struggle. The carnivores eat the flesh of other animals like deer and there is a lot of deers, cows, and many more, and the herbivores have a lot of fruits, plants, and trees to eat. So, the food cycle is maintained. There the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. There is an average rainfall and the animals that live in forests are comfortable.

The Three Main Types Of Habitats

Image
The Three Main Types Of Habitats 1. Terrestrial Habitat- It is the habitat that consists of landforms, like mountains, forests, deserts and etc. Animals that live in forests, mountains, deserts and etc. live in terrestrial habitats. There are many types of terrestrial habitats like deserts, forests, mountains, valleys and etc. Animals found in the terrestrial habitat have lungs to breathe through.  2. Aquatic Habitat- It is the habitat that consists of water bodies like oceans, seas, rivers, ponds, lakes, and etc. Animals like fish live in aquatic habitats, the animals that live in water bodies, live in aquatic habitats. Animals that live in aquatic habitat have gills to breathe through. 3. Aerial Habitat- It is the habitat that consists of animals like birds that spend most of their time in the air. Animas that live in terrestrial habitat have lungs to breathe through.

The 6 Groups Of Animals

Image
The 6 Groups of Animals 1. Mammals-  Mammals are in the group of vertebrate animals, and they are warm-blooded, they are the only group of animals which gives birth to the young ones and they have fur or hairs on their body and only animals that have mammary glands for producing milk for their young ones. They have lungs to breathe. There are also many kinds of mammals like Kangaroos that have a pouch on their stomach to carry their babies and bat is the only mammal that can fly and platypus that lay eggs and so on. 2. Birds- They are warm-blooded animals. They are a group of animals that can fly, they have wings for flying in the air. They can fly because they are very light in weight. They have a beak for eating. They have a claw for holding the branches of the tree and for standing. They have a four-chambered heart. They have lungs to breathe. They lay eggs and are in the group of vertebrate animals. 3. Fish- They are in the group of vertebrate animals. They are only animals that br

Animals

Animals Animals are organisms with many cells. They cannot do Photosynthesis and make their own food, they are dependent on plants. Animals use many different ways to get energy from other different animals. They may eat other living things. Animals are categorized into 6 different groups:- 1. Mammals 2. Birds 3. Fish 4. Reptiles 5. Amphibians  6. Invertebrates

Transpiration In Plants

Image
Transpiration in Plants Transpiration is the process by which plants release the water inside them in the form of moisture or water vapor. Roots consume some amount of water and the rest evaporates, the Stems, Stomata, and flowers are involved in this process as they release the water in the atmosphere in the form of moisture or water vapor. You can see the process of Transpiration in the diagram given below:

Indoor Plants

Image
Indoor Plants Plants that can be kept inside houses, offices, rooms and etc. are referred to   as   indoor plants. They can be kept indoors because they don't need sunlight and can grow without sunlight. Some of them also act as air purifiers and some of them are very stylish to keep indoors. They give a beautiful look to a place in the house where they have been kept. Some indoor plants can also be kept in sunlight and as well as indoors but some plants can get burnt if they will be kept in sunlight and some of them require sunlight for some time. If you will notice all your plants then you will understand the requirement of your plants. The five best indoor plants in my list are:- 1. Areca palm 2. ZZ plant 3. Fiddle leaf fig 4. Monstera 5. Rubber plant

Stomata

Image
Stomata The organ of the plant that is present on the leaves is called Stomata. They are very tiny openings that are not visible with naked eyes and to see it you will need a microscope. In some plants, it is also present on the stems.

Plants That Grow In Water

Image
Plants that grow in water The plants with thin and long stems like money plants and the plants with no stems and have only leaves like a spider plant. They can grow in water because they absorb most of their nutrients from the water and so they can develop their roots in water and hence can grow in water. Some examples of them are:- 1. Philodendron 2. Lucky Bamboo 3. Pothos 4. Chinese evergreen 5. Spider plant 6. Arrowhead plant 7. Coleus 8. Wandering Jew.

Types Of Plants

Image
Types Of Plants: There are 5 types of plants:- 1. Herbs-   They are small plants, they are green and leafy. They have fleshy and juicy stems when they are young. The stems of the herbs develop hard and woody tissue when they become old. 2. Shrubs-  They are bushy and medium-sized wooden plants. Shrubs have woody stems above the ground. They can be deciduous or evergreen. They are different from the trees by their multiple stems and shorter height, their height is 6-10 meters.  3. Trees- They are large with their trunk and branches made of wood. They can live for many years. They can live as long as 5000 years. There are four main parts of a tree- Roots, Trunk, Branches, Leaves. 4. Climbers- They are plants that climb up the trees and other objects, sometimes their stems twine around trees and branches. 5. Creepers- They grow along the ground, another plant, or up a wall by extending stems because their stems cannot support all its weight.
