 Aquatic Plants

Plants that have adapted themselves to live in the water or water bodies like rivers, ponds, seas, and oceans are called Aquatic plants. There are two types of aquatic plants, Algae and Microphytes. Algae is referred to as Hydrophytes and Micrphytes are referred to as Macrophytes. A Macrophyte is a plant that grows in or near water and is either emergent, submerged, or floating. They are able to survive in the water as they can breathe the oxygen dissolved in the water.
